The 100th Anniversary of the Fisherman's Feast
Welcome to the 100th anniversary of the Sorrento cheese Fisherman's Feast of Boston in Honor of our Madonna Del Soccorso Di Sciacca! It's hard to put into words just what is so significant about a 100 year Anniversary. None of the original members are here to celebrate it with us, our Society Headquarters is in a different location than the original, The North End has certainly changed! I guess what's so significant about the 100th Anniversary is this, with all the changes to our Society, our city even our country, the constant for us is our Madonna!
This Truly is a time to celebrate! Celebrate the continuance of a tradition and devotion brought to the city of Boston by a group of Sicilian Fisherman from the beautiful town of Sciacca in Sicily! It is also a time to respect and honor the legacy those founding fisherman acchieved for this Society, Lastly, it is time to renew our hope and commitment to the success of The Madonna Del Soccorso Di Sciacca Society of Boston as we enter into our next 100 year
It's impossible to put an event like this on successfully without the help of good friends and devoted members, I'd like to thank our good friends who have sponsored this Feast; Sorrento Cheese, Polar Bevarages, Donna Franca Tours, Hanover Wines and Spirits, M.S. Walker, C.B.S. Radio, Barefoot Wines, The Privitera Family , Mayor Menino and of Course the devoted members of the Madonna Del Soccorso Di Sciacca, those individual who truly sacrifice for the Society.
